OCTOBER MONTHLY EC MEETING MIN NOTES Date –10/23/2021

2.    President's Update& other important updates

        ♦  SELLING FOOD AT TEMPLE –

¶ Taking feedback from the community and improvising as we go on price and quantity. Added filter coffee on the menu. For Deepawali cultural event food selling will move to a mini hall only for 11/13. Need to make sure the Temple cafe flyer reaches South Asian students in Omaha.

        ♦  Cultural

¶ Diwali activities being planned. A decision is made to have a virtual event and felicitation and honoring & Raffle in person on November 14 with FB live where only board and EC will be present in the social hall . Flyer is designed and printed. Deepam is in printing. Volunteers sign up sheets are  distributed to the community in event email to engage more volunteers. Raffle tickets started selling October with the intent to drive more funds collection. To be inclusive and promote diversity one spot for each language program is secured. To involve younger generations reaching out to UNO student association for event volunteering and anchoring. Involving Balvihar kids for hallway decoration and cultural programs. Event theme is India's national flower lotus with color scheme pink/blue gold silver.

¶ Planning of Deepavali festival in progress

        ♦  IT Committee

¶ Temple website is being updated every week and emails are being sent out on the pooja activities as well as other fund raising activities.

       ♦  Balvihar, Temple toure

¶ Balvihar ids will meet next weekend to create hallway decoration. Temple tours are on going  and will be more around Deepvali timeframe.

        ♦  Finance Review

¶ A review of current month financials as well comparison of year over year financials were complete. September monthly expenses -308,540. This number is high because of parking lot payments.
